Information About Obtaining A Florida Real Estate License

  • You must be 21 or older
  • You must attend a real estate school of your choice and attend the required number of hours in the course plus pass an exam at the end of the course. The cost of the course will vary depending on the school but will be in a range of $275.00 to $350.00. You can find local schools listings in the yellow pages under Real Estate—Schools
  • You must make license application with the State of Florida. This requires a photo, finger printing & application fee. Most real estate schools should have the application and can take your photo and finger printing. You may also go on line to www.MyFlorida.com to down load your application and follow the status of your application once submitted.
  • You will be notified once the State has approved your application. You are then eligible to schedule a time to take your state exam. The exam is offered in several places throughout the State. The cost of the exam is $50.00. You must pass the exam with at least a 75%.
  • Once you have successfully passed the State exam, you notify the Broker that you are ready to begin your career in real estate. The Broker will send the State the proper forms notifying them as to which company you are affiliated with.
